The executive board of the Hamilton Partnership realized that
locally owned businesses should not be neglected, and may need
assistance and an opportunity to communicate with local government.
BIZ groups were formed, by carving up the business community
into zones throughout Hamilton Township. Each BIZ group chose
a representative to spearhead their questions and needs.
The BIZ concept, was created to help local businesses:
- Learn to compete in a changing marketplace
- Understand various marketing strategies available
- Speak with police regarding safety issues
- Address State and local government more effectively
- Bring the community together on important issues
Each month, each BIZ group had an opportunity to attend events
that catered to the support and growth of their business. Joint
marketing and promotional events were developed to encourage the
Hamilton community to patronize the various businesses that made
up the BIZ in their communities.
Communication between the local businesses and government grew,
which included awareness of future business growth within Hamilton
and ways in which the township can better assist business needs.
Currently the BIZ Groups are being re-energized, and will be
up and running soon.
